First Year Engineering Syllabus



  1. Engineering Course - 2 semesters per year (SEM 1 and SEM 2 in First Year).
  2. 12 subjects (6+6) to study in SEM 1 and SEM 2.
  3. You will be assessed on Internal and Final examination.
    • Internal Exam will be for 15-20 marks (2 tests will be conducted).
    • Final Exam will be for 60-80 marks (varies as per subject).
  4. For certain subjects university also conducts viva and/or practical examination.
  5. You will be given various assignments/practicals which needs to completed in timely manner.


Below we provide details of Syllabus and list of books you can refer during Semester 1 and 2.

Syllabus for Sem 1

Internal Assessment Test:
Assessment consists of two class tests. Average of both the test will be considered in the final result.
The first class test is to be conducted when approx. 40% syllabus is completed and second class test when additional 35% syllabus is completed. Duration of each test shall be one hour.


End Semester Theory Examination:
At the end of each semester written exam (theory) will be conducted for respective theory subjects (as mentioned above).


Term Work:
Each subject (as mentioned above) will have term work where in students will given assignments during the class and will also have Laboratory work (Experiments and Journal). Marks will be accordingly distributed for attendance(5 marks)/assginments(10 marks)/Laboratory (10 marks)


Oral Exam (viva):
At the end for each semester students have to appear for oral exams for selected subjects. Marks obtained will be added in the final result. KT (fail) in viva is counted as separate KT.


Pratical Exam:
At the end for semester students have to appear for pratical exams for selected subjects. Marks obtained will be added in the final result. No pratical exam for sem 1 subjects.
